Stamperia Artistica Nazionale has always been concerned with the subject of ecology and sustainability. Because of this, a particular attention on environmental sustainability and energy savings has been reserved to the planning of the new structure based in Trofarello. The project, combines the productive needs of a modern lithographic establishment with a centralized, flexible and environmentally friendly plant design.
Automatic gathering and compaction of the bindery’s trims: trims and scraps from the production are automatically aspirated and carried inside a double processor to be compacted and subsequently conducted to the shredder for the recycling process.
Dust and glue vapours treatment: dusts deriving from the bindery and glue vapours from the paperback are treated with specific certified filtering systems, in order to reduce at minimum level the environmental impact of the production process.
Automatic gathering of liquids and used up solvents: treatment solutions and offset machine cleansing solvents are gathered in dedicated barrels with automatic pumping systems and then transferred to a specific ecological disposal.
Industrial and civil waste recycling: all the employees are involved in a constant and careful recycling mission; through the usage of specific bins situated around the entire establishment: paper, wood, plastic, cans, glass and organic waste are carefully separated and recycled.
Centralized structure for the distribution of ink to inkpots: this system allows for a reduction to the minimum level the usage of single ink cans, eliminating the trouble of disposing residue and ink cans.
Compressed air, osmosis and water damping centralized structures: apart from significantly contributing to the homogeneity and stability of the printing parameters of the various offset machines, the centralization of such machineries allows to obtain remarkable energy savings compared to traditional methods.
Abundance of green areas and pavement quality: the grass area that covers more than 3000 sq.m. is planted with 30 timber trees and embellished by hedges and flower bushes. Apart from creating an aesthetically pleasing environment for the company, the gardens have a significant role in limiting the overheating of the buildings, in the summer, by controlling the exterior temperatures and humidity. To improve the absorption of rain water, all the exterior areas are paved with draining concrete cobblestones.
